Rev. Joseph Fremer (Interim Pastor)
It's my honor to be St. James' "temporary shepherd" until God leads your next pastor to you. I'm a retired pastor who served at Good Shepherd (Lowell, MI), and St. John (Ionia) until 2022. I was born and raised in Chicago, spent my teen years in Florida, returned to Yankee lands to attend Concordia College in Ann Arbor and Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. I've been in Michigan ever since, currently living in Saranac in Ionia County. I'm married with two grown sons and two grandkids. My passion is knowing God through His perfect Word, sharing what I'm learning, and hearing about how He is teaching you.
Ashley Beffrey, Secretary
Words cannot describe how happy and excited I am to be serving St. James as secretary. A little background on myself and my family, I am the wife of Rev. Ryan Beffrey serving at Epiphany Lutheran church in Dorr, MI. I am also a mother to two beautiful children Lydia (9) and Simeon (7). All three of them keep me moving.
